Trip to the Time and Tide Museum - Part 1

Written by Rabbits class.

On Friday we went to the Time and Tide Museum in Great Yarmouth.  We got on the bus.  It was a long time on the bus, but not the longest trip in the world.  We chatted lots, played rock, paper, scissors and sang songs.  When we looked out of the window we saw windmills and lots of trees.

When we got off the bus we had a snack and a lady called Meg told us what we would be doing that day.  The the Captain of the Navy arrived.  He taught us how to salute, use a sword, march and stand to attention.  Using the sword was fun.  Some of us got to dress up!

Next we went to Pirate Kitty Black's hideout.  She taught us how to salute in a different way.  We were now pirates and learned how to hold a cutlass, pistol and fire a cannon.  We used our imaginations and pretended we were stealing treasure.  Kitty got the treasure chest from the other ship and we looked inside.  We were surprised that it wasn't filled with gold but coffee and cinnamon.  We learned that these were very valuable at the time. We did find some fools gold though so we were happy in the end.

We went with Kitty back to the courtyard.  She had an argument with the captain who ran off scared.  It was very funny.

Here are some photos and videos of our pirate workshop.
